Bhatkal: Action against individuals allowing minors to ride two-wheelers continues in Bhatkal, with courts imposing penalties in such cases. In the latest ruling, the Senior Civil Court in Bhatkal has imposed a fine of ₹25,000 each on two vehicle owners.
According to police, Mohammed Yasin Kazia and Abdullah Ruknuddin had allowed minor boys to ride their two-wheelers, following which a case was registered at the Bhatkal Rural Police Station.
Investigating officer PSI Bharamappa Belagali filed a charge sheet before the court under Sections 5 and 199(A) of the Motor Vehicles Act.
After hearing the case, the Senior Civil Court in Bhatkal found both accused guilty and ordered a fine of ₹25,000 each.
Police have once again cautioned the public that strict legal action will continue to be taken against parents and vehicle owners who permit minors to drive vehicles.
