Bhatkal: A 21-year-old youth lost his life after a tipper lorry rammed into a motorcycle on National Highway 66 within the limits of Murudeshwar Police Station.

According to police, the accident occurred when the motorcycle, which was heading towards Murudeshwar from Honnavar, was hit by a speeding tipper. Due to the impact, the rider was thrown onto the road and sustained critical injuries. He was later declared dead.

The deceased has been identified as Nagaraj Sukra Harikant (21), a resident of Thudalli Hiredomi in Murudeshwar.

A case has been registered at the Murudeshwar Police Station against the tipper driver, identified as Dinesh Ramachandra Naik, a resident of Anantawadi in Manki (Honnavar).

The investigation is being carried out under the supervision of Sub-Inspector Hanumant Biradar.
