Bhatkal: In a tragic incident on National Highway 63 at Arbail Ghat in Yellapur taluk of Uttara Kannada, a moving car suddenly caught fire, resulting in the driver being burnt alive.

The incident is reported to have occurred on Wednesday morning.

According to sources, the car was proceeding from Hubballi towards Ankola when it caught fire while in motion near the Talikumbri bus stop area. The flames rapidly engulfed the vehicle, leaving the driver with no chance to escape.

The driver was charred beyond recognition, making identification difficult.

Preliminary information suggests that the vehicle involved was a Volkswagen car.

Yellapur police rushed to the spot upon receiving information and conducted an inspection.

A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway to ascertain the identity of the deceased and the exact cause of the incident.
