Bhatkal: The Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Court in Bhatkal has imposed a fine of ₹25,000 each on two more motorcycle owners in connection with separate cases of minors riding motorcycles.
The bike owners have been identified as Manjunath Nagappa Naik and Irappa Honnappa Naik.
The cases stem from a road safety enforcement drive conducted about two to three weeks ago in the Heble Gandhinagar area by Bhatkal Rural Police. During the inspection, PSI Bharamappa intercepted two minors who were riding motorcycles and subsequently submitted a report to the court.
Acting on the police report, the JMFC Court found the motorcycle owners liable for permitting minors to ride and imposed a fine of ₹25,000 on each owner. The action forms part of the ongoing efforts by the Bhatkal police to curb underage driving and enhance road safety.
