Bhatkal: Anjuman PU College for Women registers impressive 92% pass; Students excel across streams

Bhatkal: Anjuman Pre-University College for Women delivered a commendable performance in the II PUC Annual Examination held in March 2026, recording an overall pass percentage of 92% and reinforcing its reputation for academic excellence.

The Science stream led the results with an outstanding pass percentage of 96.61%, followed by Commerce at 94%, while the Arts stream recorded 77.04%. Reflecting the institution’s strong academic standards, a total of 107 students secured distinction, 177 passed in first class, 41 in second class, and 8 in third class. Notably, 42 students achieved a perfect score of 100 out of 100, underscoring the college’s consistent academic performance.

In the Science stream, Maimuna Ajaib, daughter of Mohammed Ameen Ajaib, emerged as the topper with 594/600 (99%), followed by Aiza Maryam, daughter of Mohammed Iqbal, who scored 589/600 (98.16%), and Fatima Riha, daughter of Rayees Ahmed MJ, with 587/600 (97.83%).

In the Commerce stream, Aqsa Shireen, daughter of DM Ilyas, secured the top position with 591/600 (98.5%). Chow Nishwa, daughter of Nazeer Ahmed, and Sarah Ruknuddin, daughter of Mohammed Yusuf Ruknuddin, jointly secured the second position with 590/600 (98.33%) each, while Lujaina Afrika, daughter of Fawwaz Afrika, also delivered an impressive performance with 583/600 (97.16%).

In the Arts stream, Shifa Anam, daughter of Ameer Hamza, topped with 591/600 (98.5%), followed by Rania Sowban, daughter of Mohammed Souban, with 573/600 (95.5%), and Sabiha Tarannum, daughter of Akbar Ali Sab, with 572/600 (95.33%).

Adding to the institution’s pride, Maimuna Ajaib not only topped the Science stream at the college level but also emerged as the topper in Bhatkal taluk and secured second rank in Uttara Kannada district. She had earlier excelled in the SSLC examination in 2024 with 99.04%, topping the English medium at Anjuman Girls High School, Nawayath Colony, and securing third rank at the district level.

Similarly, Shifa Anam not only topped the Arts stream in Bhatkal taluk but also clinched the first rank in Uttara Kannada district, further highlighting the exceptional academic standards of the institution.

President Yunus Kazia, General Secretary Ishaque Shabandari, Principal Farzana Mohtisham, along with the staff and management of Anjuman, congratulated the students on their outstanding achievement and wished them success in their future endeavors.
