Karwar: Vanamahotsava, the tree-planting festival aimed at promoting greenery and environmental awareness, was celebrated in a meaningful and unique manner at Balmandir High School in Karwar. Students and staff actively participated by planting saplings, watering them, and offering a traditional aarti as a symbolic gesture of reverence for nature.
Addressing the students on the occasion, school headmistress Anjali Mane highlighted the importance of afforestation and ecological responsibility. “Vanamahotsava is a festival dedicated to nurturing trees. It is our collective duty to green the environment and contribute to reducing global warming,” she said.

Scouts and Guides students, along with other students and teachers, planted and watered a variety of saplings as part of the event.
The celebration was attended by physical education teachers Ratnakar S. Madival, Naziruddin Sayed, Prashant Naik, and Uday Achari, as well as teachers Bharati E. Isaac, Geeta E. Isaac, Hamsalekha Naik, and Hanifabi Shaikh. The programme was coordinated by Eco Club in-charge teacher V. Harlaker.
