Thrilling matches mark second Sunday of BPL T20 Cricket tournament near Dubai

Dubai: The ongoing Bhatkal Premier League (BPL) T20 Cricket Tournament in Ajman, witnessed a series of exciting and high-voltage matches on its second Sunday, January 11. Cricket fans were treated to thrilling contests throughout the day, with the final match going down to the wire.

In the sixth match of the tournament, Rising Stars registered a five-wicket victory over DVS United. Batting first, DVS United were bowled out for 126 runs on the fifth ball of the 20th over. Abdul Hameed top-scored with 49 runs, while Nabeel Khan contributed 23. In reply, Rising Stars chased down the target in the 19th over, scoring 130 runs for the loss of five wickets. Mohtasim played a brisk knock of 40 runs off just 28 balls, while Areeb Gawai added 34 runs to guide his team to victory.

The second match saw AZ Diamond Riders edge past Luxury Zone Titans in a high-scoring encounter by four wickets. Luxury Zone Titans, batting first, posted an impressive total of 186 runs for the loss of nine wickets in 20 overs. Nauman Tahira starred with a blistering 80 runs off 36 balls. Chasing the target, AZ Diamond Riders reached 187 runs for six wickets on the fifth ball of the final over. Abdul Baqi scored a vital 50 off 31 balls, while Mohammad Ali chipped in with 31 runs.

In the seventh match of the tournament, T2 Party Officials dominated Ruknuddin Brothers Chargers, winning by seven wickets. Ruknuddin Brothers were bundled out for 130 runs in just 15 overs. T2 Party Officials chased down the target comfortably in the 16th over. Abdul Khaliq Pillur played a brilliant innings of 61 runs, while Abdul Qavi Motia added 53 runs. Earlier, Shamoon Shabandari produced a devastating bowling spell, claiming seven wickets for just 17 runs in four overs, supported well by Anas Mulla, who picked up three wickets conceding only 17 runs.

The eighth and final match of the day between Rasbahar Challengers and Dr. Haneef Warriors turned out to be a nail-biting contest. Batting first, Dr. Haneef Warriors scored 183 runs for the loss of six wickets in their allotted 20 overs. In response, Rasbahar Challengers staged a remarkable comeback. Two players named Ismail played crucial roles, scoring 48 and 45 runs respectively, while Mohammad Fuwaiz Kareemi contributed a valuable 35 runs. Rasbahar Challengers reached 184 runs for seven wickets on the third ball of the 20th over, winning the match by three wickets.

The thrilling performances and close finishes on the second Sunday of the BPL T20 Tournament have further heightened excitement among cricket enthusiasts, with more exciting matches expected in the days ahead.
