Theft at Udupi, valuables worth 5.5 lakhs stolen

Udupi: A robbery was reported at Doddanagudde when the family was away from the town and the thieves stole the gold ornaments and silver valuables totally valued at around Rs 5.5 lakhs. This house belongs to Raghavendra Somayaji.

As per the sources, Somayaji had left for Bengaluru along with wife and daughter on July 1 to attend the death anniversary rituals of his mother. When he returned on July 5 morning, he found that thieves had gained entry into the house by breaking the lock and had stolen items by using keys found inside an almirah in the bedroom.

A case of theft has been registered at the town police station and investigation are on.
