Silent human chain held outside Mosques in Dandeli to protest Waqf amendment bill

Dandeli: Hundreds of members from the Muslim community staged a silent protest in Dandeli on Friday, forming a human chain outside four mosques to oppose the proposed Waqf Amendment Bill. The peaceful demonstration lasted for about 15 minutes and took place simultaneously at mosques located in Old Dandeli, Link Road, No. 3 Gate, and Township area.

The protest was organized under the banner of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board and coordinated locally by the Anjuman Falahul Muslimeen of Dandeli, under the guidance of its president, Riyaz Babu Syed. Notably, the protest was conducted in complete silence, without any slogans or speeches, with mosque authorities and community leaders ensuring discipline and order.

Speaking on the occasion, Riyaz Babu Syed stated, “We do not accept the Waqf Amendment Bill. The government must withdraw this move and allow peace and communal harmony to prevail.”

Large numbers of community members gathered to register their opposition, standing shoulder to shoulder in a show of unity against the bill.
