Mangaluru: A shop was completely gutted in a fire incident that occurred on Saturday morning at Heraje Complex in Belthangady taluk, about 60 kilometres from Mangaluru in Dakshina Kannada district. No injuries were reported in the incident.

According to sources, the fire broke out at a shop named KAF Creative, where a suspected leak from helium-filled balloons is believed to have triggered the blaze. A short circuit is also suspected to have caused the fire, which rapidly spread and destroyed all items inside the shop.

Upon receiving information, fire brigade personnel rushed to the spot and carried out firefighting operations. Local residents also assisted in bringing the flames under control.

Authorities have initiated further investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the incident.
