Bhatkal: Anjuman Degree College and Bhatkal Town Police Station host self-defense workshop

Bhatkal: Anjuman Degree College, in collaboration with the Bhatkal Town Police Station, organized a self-defense workshop as part of the Women Empowerment Program. This initiative was jointly coordinated by the Student Welfare Wing, led by Anjuman College Prof. Mohammed Ganim, and the NSS unit, headed by Prof. R.S. Nayak.

The workshop featured Town PSI Kokila Anoop, a specialist in cyber crimes, who shared her expertise on various aspects of self-defense.

PSI Kokila Anoop covered several critical aspects of self-defense, specifically tailored for women. Talking about physical self-defense, she highlighted the techniques and strategies for responding to physical threats. While discussing emotional self-defense, she emphasized understanding and managing emotional manipulation. In the context of virtual self-defense, she shed light on protecting oneself in digital spaces. She also provided practical advice on managing social media privacy settings, such as making display pictures private, the importance of not sharing private photos with anyone, differentiating between public and private life, maintaining boundaries, and blocking biometrics in Aadhaar cards using the MMR application.

The workshop concluded with an interactive session where PSI Kokila Anoop answered numerous questions from the students, leading to a highly engaging and fruitful discussion.

The workshop began with the recitation of Quranic verses by Prof. A.R. Muneeb, followed by a welcome address by the Principal, Mr. Mushtaque K. Shaikh. Prof. Mohammed Ganim introduced the resource person, and PSI Kokila Anoop initiated the training session.

As a token of appreciation, the Principal presented a memento to PSI Kokila Anoop, and the event concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. R.S. Nayak.
