Mangaluru: The Mangaluru Police have sought public assistance in identifying two unidentified male bodies currently preserved at the Wenlock Hospital mortuary.
According to press release, the first body—believed to be of a man aged between 25 and 30 years—was found on October 22 in a decomposed state along the bank of the Gurupura River, near the Dhakke Persian boat parking area.
The deceased is approximately 5 feet 4 inches tall, of wheatish complexion and moderate build, with a round face and black hair about two inches long. He was wearing a saffron-colored half-sleeve T-shirt and blue Bermuda shorts at the time of discovery.
Anyone with information that could help identify the deceased is requested to contact the Mangaluru South Police Station.
In a separate case, another male body—believed to be of a person aged between 45 and 60 years—was recovered after the man reportedly consumed alcohol at a bar and fell into a stormwater drain, leading to his death.
The deceased is approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, of dark (oily-black) complexion, with a long face, black-and-white mixed hair about four inches long, and a white beard and moustache. He was wearing a dirty white-and-blue long-sleeve shirt and black Bermuda shorts.
Distinctive features include a black mole (birthmark) on the left forearm and a red thread tied around the right wrist. According to reports, the deceased was conversant in Kannada, Tulu, and Malayalam.
