Mangalore: Ayesha Bajpe, the newly elected councillor of Tarikambla ward in Bajpe Pattan Panchayat, has launched ward-level development works by undertaking door-to-door visits in the ward. As part of the initiative, more than 20 streetlights have been repaired or replaced. She also distributed sweets to voters who supported her in the recent elections.

She further supervised the filling of a long-pending pit near the Bajpe Jamia Masjid, which had been causing inconvenience to the public.

Earlier, during her previous term as a panchayat member, Ayesha had implemented 21 soak pits, a first-of-its-kind initiative in the state. In view of her performance, the SDPI fielded her again in the Pattan Panchayat elections, and voters of Tarikambla ward re-elected her with the highest margin.
