Bhatkal: Panic gripped a private college in Bhatkal on Wednesday morning after the body of a man was found hanging inside the college laboratory. The deceased has been identified as 53-year-old Shridhar Moger, a resident of Bhatkal’s Belni area.

According to sources, Shridhar had been working as an assistant lab worker at the same college for over 35 years. Family members stated that he had gone missing on Tuesday night and did not return home. His body was discovered hanging in the laboratory on Wednesday morning, after which the police were immediately informed.

Family sources confirmed that Shridhar was married 21 years ago and is survived by his wife and two daughters.

Police recovered a suicide note from the scene in which Shridhar cited low salary and financial difficulties as reasons for his distress. He also mentioned being heavily in debt and stated that he had given one of his wife’s ornaments for repair to an individual a year ago, but it had not been returned. It is believed that this prolonged stress may have led him to take the extreme step.

Upon receiving the information, Circle Police Inspector Diwakar, along with forensic experts and other officials, visited the scene and collected necessary evidence. A case has been registered at the Bhatkal Town Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
