Kumta: As many as six members belonging from one family were injured severely, when the car they were  travelling had a head-on collision with truck approaching from the opposite direction. The incident was reported on 2nd July, Saturday on Divgi bridge NH-66, here at 3km away from city. 

The injured victims has been identified as Radhakrishna, Mangalbai, Harish, Diganth, Lokeshwari and Praveen, all residents of Bangalore. Immediately, the injured were shifted to Mangalore hospitals after providing first aid treatments at Kumta government hospital. 

When the incident was reported, the car was on the way towards Gokarna routes from Dharmastala and truck was heading towards Kumta route from Ankola. Traffic jam for more than a hour was  observed.  Police personnel rushed to the spot and made the way clear for traffic. 

In this regard, a case has been registered in Kumta police station.
