Karwar: In view of the ongoing heavy rainfall forecast, the Uttara Kannada district administration has declared a holiday for all Anganwadis and schools in Joida and Dandeli taluks on Thursday (03 July). The order was issued by Deputy Commissioner Lakshmi Priya.

The decision comes as the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for July 2nd and 3rd, predicting intensified rainfall particularly in the Malenadu (Western Ghats) region. The move is aimed at ensuring student safety and preventing potential mishaps due to weather-related disruptions.
