Forest Department Cage Captures Leopard Near Kumta After Month-Long Sighting Spree

Kumta: A two-year-old male leopard, which had been sighted in the vicinity of Chitrigi, Vannalli, Kadle, and Holanagadde in Kumta taluk over the past month, was successfully captured after falling into a Forest Department cage near Chitrigi School on Saturday. 

The leopard's presence had instilled fear among locals in the area. Kumta RFO S T Patgar disclosed that the Forest Department had strategically positioned cages at multiple locations over the course of the past month.
