Mangaluru: The recent polling in Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituency witnessed a commendable 77.44 percent voter turnout, reflecting a strong commitment to the electoral process.

Despite minor incidents involving Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), the voting procedure remained largely peaceful across the district. Noteworthy was the rural areas' significant turnout, contrasting with slower participation in urban regions like Mangalore.

Instances of EVM malfunctions were promptly addressed, ensuring uninterrupted voting. Special security measures, including the deployment of RPSF commandos, contributed to a sense of safety, particularly in micro polling stations.
