BMJD elects new leadership: Shahriyar Khatib and Jailani Mohtisham take key roles

Bhatkal: The new office bearers of BMJD were recently elected, with Mr. Shahriyar Khatib, a longstanding member, chosen as President and Jailani Mohtisham appointed as General Secretary.

The elected officials include Imran Khatib as Vice President, Abdul Wasi Khalifa as First Secretary, Imdad Peshmam as Second Secretary, Isam Siddi Ahmada as Accountant, and Afaq Naite as Treasurer.

Shahriyar Khatib has served as an executive member of the Jamaat for 28 years, while Jailani Mohtisham has contributed for 16 years in various roles within the jamaat.

The former President, Mr. Muiz Muallim, acted as the Election Commissioner, overseeing the elections with deputies Sarfaraz Jukaku and Imran Khatib. The elections were conducted from February 29 to March 3, with 59 candidates participating. The results, announced on March 3 after vote counting, saw 37 members elected. Among them are nine new faces: Imran Khatib, Awaab Kola, Abdul Salam Kola, Nabil Karikal, Rameez Ahmed Sada, Ghufran Damda Abu, Mohammed Ibrahim Jubapu, Shams Tabrez Gawai, and Syed Jasem SJ.

Additionally, ten members from the outgoing administration were elected before the elections. Their names are: Muiz Muallim, Sarfraz Jukaku, Imran Khatib, Samir Saqqaf, Naveed Kobatte, Shakib Shabandari, Abdul Wahab Mulla, Abdul Qadir Basha Ruknuddin, Mohammed Ghous Khalifa, and Anjum Kola.
