Bhatkal: Expressing anger over the worsening condition of Tenginagundi and Rahmathabad roads, which come under Heble panchayat, a delegation from the Rahmathabad Friends Forum met Uttara Kannada District In-charge Minister Mankal Vaidya and submitted a memorandum demanding urgent repairs and improved civic amenities in the area.
The delegation informed the Minister that despite repeated appeals to the concerned officials, no steps have been taken to repair the damaged roads, which have become unsafe for motorists and pedestrians due to large potholes and uneven surfaces.

Leading the delegation, the Forum’s General Secretary Jareer Shoupa briefed the Minister about the deteriorating state of the PWD road connecting Tenginagundi Cross, Rahmathabad, and the fishing harbour. He pointed out that residents have been suffering for several months, but no visible action has been taken by the local administration despite multiple written requests and memorandums.
Shoupa warned that the residents’ patience has reached its limit, and if immediate repairs are not initiated, they will be compelled to stage peaceful protests. The memorandum also urged the Minister to address other civic issues in the locality, including drainage improvement and the provision of basic amenities.

Minister Mankal Vaidya, after receiving the memorandum, assured the delegation that he would instruct the concerned departments to take prompt action and make every effort to resolve the residents’ grievances.
The delegation included Murtuza Shaikh, Yahya Ruknuddin, Sinan S.J., Anzaf Qazi, and several other members of the Rahmathabad Friends Forum.
