Bhatkal: As per the directions of the Election Commission of India, the process of Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list is set to begin shortly. As part of the preliminary preparations, officials have started mapping voters whose names appeared in the 2002 electoral roll and are still listed in the 2025 voter list, particularly those aged 40 years and above.

In addition, the administration is also carrying out Progeny Mapping by identifying the next generation of these voters — children, daughters, grandsons and granddaughters below 40 years of age.

In a press release, Bhatkal Tahsildar Nagendra Kolshetti informed that voters whose names were listed in the 2002 electoral roll are requested to provide details such as their Assembly Constituency name, Part Number, and Serial Number to the Booth Level Officer (BLO) of their respective polling station to complete the mapping process.

He further appealed to the public to also share the details of their children and grandchildren below 40 years to ensure accurate completion of the progeny mapping exercise.

The Tahsildar concluded by urging citizens to extend full cooperation for the smooth execution of this important official process.
