Bhatkal: Police take three Arrested fraud suspects to crime scene for inspection; Prime accused still absconding

Bhatkal — The three suspects involved in a large-scale fraud, who allegedly cheated residents by offering household appliances at half the market price, were brought to Bhatkal on Tuesday for a spot inspection after being arrested at Mangalore Railway Station earlier this week. Police escorted the accused to the Global Enterprises showroom, where the alleged operation was run, and collected crucial evidence related to the activities carried out at the premises.

The three accused — M. Ganesh (son of Muthaiya), Tyagarajan (son of Shivakadasam), and Maiyanadan (son of Karuppaya) — were among four individuals who allegedly fled Bhatkal on the night of November 4 after taking large sums of money from customers. The trio was arrested within a week and produced before the Karwar District Court, after which they were remanded to police custody for further investigation.

The investigation team also visited the rented house where the accused had been staying and documented details about their behaviour, local connections, and operational methods.

According to Circle Police Inspector Divakar, the bank accounts of the accused have been frozen, and investigations are underway into the money deposited, financial transactions, and suspicious transfers.

The operation was led by DySP Mahesh, with CPI Divakar, PSI Naveen, PSI Thimmappa Moger, and other personnel actively involved.

Meanwhile, the prime accused, Uday Kumar Rengaraju, remains absconding, and a special operation has been launched to trace and arrest him.
