Bhatkal: With a large influx of tourists expected in Murdeshwar during the Christmas festivities and New Year celebrations, the Murdeshwar Police have initiated comprehensive measures to ensure smooth traffic flow, public safety, and maintenance of law and order.
As part of the preparations, the Murdeshwar Police Station convened a meeting with roadside shop owners operating along major roads and tourist routes. Shopkeepers were sensitised about the importance of avoiding encroachments on roads and footpaths, which could disrupt traffic movement during peak tourist hours. Police officials instructed them to strictly adhere to traffic regulations and cooperate with authorities to facilitate uninterrupted vehicular and pedestrian movement.

In a separate meeting held at the police station, owners and managers of lodges and resorts in and around Murdeshwar were called in and briefed on security-related measures to be followed during the festive season. The discussions focused on maintaining law and order during New Year celebrations, ensuring the safety and security of women, and preventing any untoward incidents.
Police officials also issued clear instructions regarding the regulated use of sound systems and loudspeakers, emphasising compliance with permissible noise levels and prescribed time limits. Lodge and resort operators were warned against allowing any unlawful activities on their premises and were urged to promptly inform the police of any suspicious behaviour.
The Murdeshwar Police appealed to all stakeholders, including traders, hospitality operators, and the general public, to extend full cooperation to ensure that the Christmas and New Year celebrations are conducted in a safe, peaceful, and orderly manner.
