Bhatkal: A fisherman lost his life after falling into the Arabian Sea near Mavinakurve Bunder in Bhatkal on Thursday.

The deceased has been identified as Shridhar Parameshwar Kharvi. According to sources, he had ventured about 15 km into the sea from Mavinakurve Bunder for fishing when he accidentally fell into the water while hauling the fishing nets.

He was immediately rushed to the Bhatkal Government Hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.

A case has been registered at the Bhatkal Rural Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
