Bhatkal: Achyut Kamath, Manager of Anpal Group App Company, said that success in business can be achieved by cultivating discipline and ethical values in trade and entrepreneurship.
He was speaking on Saturday after inaugurating a business fair organised by commerce students at Siddhartha College of Education in Bhatkal. Addressing the students, Kamath said business activities should not be carried out without proper calculation of profits and expenses. He stressed that courage, patience and honesty are essential qualities for becoming a successful entrepreneur.
Journalist Mohan Naik, who addressed the gathering, said Siddhartha Educational Institution is a matter of pride for Bhatkal. He noted that students from poor backgrounds studying at the institution have secured seats in prestigious institutions such as IITs and AIIMS by appearing for competitive examinations, which he said stands as evidence of the institution’s teaching system. He wished that the institution’s efforts continue and that more underprivileged students study there and grow to greater heights.
College Principal Archana said the business fair was organised with the objective of providing commerce students with knowledge and understanding of business practices. Through the fair, students are made aware of how to manage income and expenditure within the limits of daily earnings, she said.
Lecturers Prakash Kedle and Shantala Prabhu also spoke on the occasion. Lecturer Ganapati Naik welcomed the gathering and compered the programme, while Narendra Naik proposed the vote of thanks.
After the formal programme, a business fair was held in which commerce students sold a variety of food items prepared by them. Students purchased and enjoyed the food items and expressed happiness over the initiative.
