Karwar – In view of the orange alert issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) for heavy rainfall across parts of coastal Karnataka, the Deputy Commissioner of Uttara Kannada, Lakshmi Priya, has declared a holiday for schools and anganwadis in five coastal taluks of the district on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.

According to the notification, the holiday applies to all government, aided, and unaided primary and high schools, as well as anganwadi centers in Bhatkal, Honnavar, Kumta, Ankola, and Karwar taluks.
