Mangalore: A man stabbed to death in a daylight attack, occurred in a hotel in Belthangadi taluk near Mangalore on Wednesday evening. The deceased has been identified as Vishwanath Moolya alias Visil Vishwa of Kalkani village. The incident occurred when the deceased was having tea at restaurant Hotel Ganesh, with his friend Ishthan Jayakar.
Owner of the hotel, Mr. Divaker said that at around 5 pm on Wednesday, the deceased Vishva Nath was having tea in the hotel. Meanwhile, three people wearing helmets who came on a blue Maruthi Omni car halted it in front of the hotel and immediately rushed into the hotel. While one of them pointed a pistol at Vishwanath, the other two stabbed Vishwanath with swords and after seriously injuring him the assaulters fled from spot in the same Omni car.
Seriously inured Vishwanath was rushed to nearby hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries on the way to hospital.
It may be noted that the deceased was an accused in the murder case of Dhanya Kumar Kadambu of Guruvinekeri, he was jailed but was later released on bail.
Killers arrested:
The police have managed to arrest the attackers, within an hour of the incident, at Balya Cross, near Uppinagadi. According to the police, the assaulters have been identified as Sunish, Vitesh and Prakash of the rivals group of the deceased Vishwanath.
The police sources, said that immediately after murder, all the surrounding police stations were informed by the Belthangadi police about the incident and the whole area taped off by the police. Meanwhile, the police received the information about an Omni car escaping after hitting an auto rickshaw. As that road where the incident was occured was heading towards the Uppinagadi, all the roads towards the Uppinagadi were sealed off. The attackers who their best to escape from the police net, were finally captured at Balya Cross.
