MUSCAT: The Bhatkal Muslim Jamat Muscat (Oman) will hold its Eid Milan 2012 on the first day of Eid Al Azha, i.e., October 26, Friday at Indian School Ghubra (ISG). Says Suhail Ahmed Ekkeri, convenor of the Eid Milan 2012.
'The Eid Milan will begin from 8pm with dinner at the ISG lawns and the formal programme will kick off at 9.30pm at the ISG auditorium and is expected to conclude at 12.30am.
Mr. J S. Mukul, ambassador of India to Oman, will grace the occasion as chief guest and Mr. Mohammed Ghous Khalifa, secretary-general of BMKC, will be the guest of honour.
'Among the attractions will be the performance of two famous Hyderabadi mimicry artistes, Habeeb Qadeer and Mirza Khairuddin Baig;
Skits by Bhatkal kids, and a cultural item, 'A Poetic Tribute to late Syed Abdurrahim Irshad.' Raffle draws will also be held with high-profile prizes.
The latest edition of the Oman-based Bhatkal Community pocket telephone directory will also be released on the occasion.
Another important part of the Eid Milan will be the presentation of the BMJ-Muscat Academic Excellence Awards.
J S Mukul will honour the students from Bhatkal based in Oman who have score 80 % and above in the 2012 final examinations in Xth, XII and graduation levels.
