Dubai: "Trade is the Sunnah of our Prophet Muhammed (PBUH), the humankind can reach heights through trade. Trade is a blessing if obtained according to the standards of Islamic law and today we are seeing the same blessing on Bhatkal community in this Eid Milan", said K Rehman Khan, Member of Rajya Sabha, at the Eid Milan Ceremony conducted by Bhatkal Muslim Community in Dubai on Friday evening at the Sheikh Rashid Auditorium in Indian High School. He was present as the chief guest of the function.
Addressing the Bhatkali's he said, 'Allah has bestowed many blessing on you, you all are blessed with many abilities, you have been awarded with the knowledge in academic fields and religious grounds, with which you can lead entire India by accepting the leadership, you should not only serve Bhatkali Muslims but also work for the welfare of Muslims in the state and entire Nation. Today, Muslims in India need to find their positions and make their own identity. All Muslims should strive to live by the code set by our Creator. Allah and his Prophet (PBUH) charged us for the service of humanity, for this reason each one of us should join hands and serve the public of India'.
Praising about the Nawayath leader SM Syed Khalilur Rehman, K Rehman Khan refused to accept that SM Khalil is just a leader of Bhatkal, rather he is the leader of Karnataka Muslims and the whole country, he said. He also acknowledged about the services of Late Mr. SM Yahya.
Prior to the main function, a grand dinner party was held in the open courtyard of the auditorium, around 9pm the program began with the recitation of verses from the holy Quran by Hafiz-e-Quran Abdul Awwal Aqrami.
Mohammed Ashfaque Sada, the convener of the Eid-Milan program greeted the audience. Presenting the introduction of Jamaat he said," The first Bhatkal Muslim Community Eid Milan was held in the year 1982, which was attended over by just 125 people, but today more than 2500 people have gathered here for the event".
The guests were welcomed with bouquets of flowers. Speaking on the occasion, Guest of Honor Dr. Toufeeq Choudhary said, ‘Allah has given a lot of things to the people of Bhatkal, you have Islam and Education, the Muslim across the country expect lot of services from you’. He further asked the youth to come forward in all sectors.
Bhatkal Majlis Islah-o-Tanzeem President, Mr. Muzammil Qazia, who was also present on the occasion as a Guest of honor, drew the attention of K Rehman by highlighting the issue of dropping out names from Ration Card of the Indians living in gulf and requested K Rehman to look into the matter and try to solve problems faced by Non-Residential Indians.
Gulf council's President Mohammed Gaus Khalifa questioned all Bhatkalies present in the event, if they were really worthy of the comments made by K Rehman regarding Bhatkali Muslims. Then replying himself, he said that if we qualify to those standards, then we must uphold our responsibility. He appreciated the efforts made by the youth for organizing Eid Milan. But he also said population in Bhatkal is deprived of proper medical facilities and they suffer terribly because of this, if our Bhatkali youth can collect 50 crores sponsorship to conduct a program, then why can’t they collect more than 100 crores for building a well equipped hospital for the community. He drew the attention of jamaat members and the youth to take the hospital project forward.
Further stated, Allah has given many blessings such as wealth to the people of Bhatkal; if we collect assets from all the investors of our community then our Capital will be more than a thousand crore. If we give 2.5 percent of our wealth and assets as Zakat, which will be 25 crore, and if we pay it accordingly, then the needy and the sick can have a brighter future and there will be no poor among the people of Bhatkal.
Abdul Qadir Badsha Ruknuddin, president BMJ Dubai presided over the function. Mr. Mohammed Maaz Shabandari compeered the event and Mr. Mohammed Yusuf Barmawer, vice convener of BMJD Eid Milan proposed the votes of thanks.
Acknowledging the dedicated contributions of Community leader Mr. S M Syed Khalil to the Bhatkali community, BMJ Dubai awarded him with the Personality Award on this occasion. Mr. Rahmatullah Rahi General Secretary of BMJ Dubai read the -Sipas Nama- (the appreciation letter).
Expressing his thoughts on the occasion Mr. S M Syed Khalil said, ‘A human being need to set-up three factories in himself, Ice factory in the brain for keeping the mind cool at all times, sugar factory in the mouth so that sweet speech always flows from his mouth, and the love factory in the Heart. We must love Allah and his messenger above all’. He tend to focus their attention on eliminating mutual differences, ‘we don't have the authority to tell others that they are wrong and we are right, Allah Almighty knows what's in the heart and will judge us accordingly’.
Meanwhile, in the entertainment session, two widely known Pakistani comedians, Kashif Khan and Rawoof Lala, echoed the function hall with the laughter by presenting highly appraised jokes, entertainment item presented by Rahmatuallah Rahi and Yasir Muallim were quite entertaining too.
Academic excellence awards were presented to students who excelled in the field of education. On the occasion, the recently released book of Shazia Saifullah Shabandari, 'Learning and Beyond' was also issued in Dubai by the hands of Dr. Toufeeq Chowdhary.
Prizes were given away to the winners securing first, second and third place in the cooking competition. Lastly, the prizes were distributed through the Raffle draw by Mr. Kokari Sameer and his team. The bumper prize of Samsung home went to Ahmed Mushtaq Mulla, the second prize of Nano car went to Munaaf Africa; where as the third prize of eight bikes were distributed among the eight winning people.
