Srinagar: Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde today said he will discuss security related issues and infiltration in Jammu and Kashmir at the Unified Headquarters meeting to be held here tomorrow.
"We will talk about security issues, infiltration (from across the Line of Control) and people's cooperation tomorrow," Shinde told reporters upon his arrival from Jammu here. Responding to a question, Shinde said the issue of providing security to sarpanchs and panchs, who have been targeted by militants recently, will also be discussed.
Shinde, who is on a three-day visit to the state, will chair the meeting of the Unified Headquarters which will be attended among others by heads of army, police, paramilitary forces, top civil administration officials and representatives of intelligence agencies. He is scheduled to visit some forward posts along the Line of Control in the Valley.
Shinde said the people of Jammu and Kashmir have suffered a lot and visiting the state was his priority soon after taking charge of the Union Home Ministry. "Earlier this week, I visited Leh and Kargil to take stock of the security situation and development process in these districts," he added.
