New Delhi: Passengers on board the Delhi-bound Air India flight that made an emergency landing in Pakistan's southern Sindh province early this morning have started boarding the relief aircraft sent by the airline. "The passengers are now boarding the relief aircraft, which is expected to take off at 3 pm," civil aviation authority spokesman Pervez George said.

Air India dispatched an Airbus A320 to Nawabshah this afternoon to ferry the passengers back to India.

The relief flight also carried engineers who would repair the other aircraft.

Earlier, the Air India flight with 130 people on board, come from Abu Dhabi, had made an emergency landing at Nawabshah airport in southern Sindh province after its hydraulic system failed.

The plane landed at Nawabshah airport in southern Sindh province at 3.37 am local time.

All 122 passengers and eight crew members on board the Airbus 319 aircraft are safe, officials said.

"The aircraft was flying over Pakistani air space when the pilot saw a warning light in the cockpit and sought permission to land at the nearest airport which was Nawabshah," an Air India spokesperson said in New Delhi.
