Bangalore: Asserting that former chief minister BS Yeddyurappa's move to float a party would not have any impact on his party, Karnataka unit JDS President H D Kumaraswamy on Saturday said it would form the next government on its own.

"The proposed launching of a new political party by Yeddyurappa will have an adverse impact on BJP, not JDS," he told reporters at Mysore, some 140 kms away from here.

Upset over the party leadership neglecting him, Yeddyurappa has announced that he would float a new party by December 10 this year.

Claiming that BJP had lost the people's confidence, he said JDS headed by former prime minister and his father H D Deve Gowda would emerge victorious and form the government on its own in the assembly elections due early next year.

JDS would implement the A T Ramaswamy committee recommendations on encroachment of government lands in and around Bangalore, if the party was voted to power in the coming elections, Kumaraswamy said.

"The BJP Government has failed to take action against land mafia who have encroached a staggering 40,000 acre government land in and around the city," he charged.

Kumaraswamy said he would undertake a tour of the State from October 29 to strengthen the party.

Welcoming the Lokayukta special court decision, Kumaraswamy said that the probe on the Bangalore-Mysore expressway would unravel the truth on the irregularities allegedly committed in the project.
