Bangalore: Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar today said the government was making all efforts to find a permanent solution for waste disposal in the city.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the Police Commemoration day here, he said a number of steps were being taken to dipose waste. Besides the Mandur landfill, four to five other places had been identified for waste disposal.

He said several firms have come forward to generate power and produce fertiliser from waste and some had already been granted permission. Some more firms would be granted persmission at the next cabinet meeting, he said,adding some others had also agreed to collect garbage at the doorsteps.
