Bangalore: Lokayuktha police today arrested a police official while accepting a bribe of Rs two lakh from a complainant for an official favour.

H Hanumanthappa was caught red-handed while accepting bribe of Rs two lakhs for favouring one Nagaraj in a cheating case, a Lokayukta release said.

The inspector who had earlier demanded Rs 15 lakh bribe, ultimately settled for Rs 5 lakh.

A trap was laid and the accused was caught while he was being paid Rs 2 lakh as advance payment.
