Bangalore: Eid-Ul-Fitr, which marks the culmination of a month long Ramadan fast, was celebrated with religious fervour and traditional gaiety by Muslims through out Karnataka today.

Deputy Chief Minister R Ashok, who also holds Home portfolio, taking no chance, especially after the city witnessed exodus, went round the city in the night to ensure that security was in place to ensure peaceful celebration of Eid.

He visited some mosques and Tibetan youth Hostal. He met some Muslim leaders and greeted them on the eve of Eid.

Thousands of Muslims offered special prayers at dargahs and mosques in various parts of the State.
