Bellary: Mining baron and former Karnataka Minister G Janardhana Reddy was today produced amid tight security before JMFC Court at Sandur in connection with a case alleging that he had encroached Andhra Pradesh border for illegal iron ore mining.

The case was filed in 2006 by Tapal Narayana Reddy who alleged his (Janardhana Reddy) and three others involvement in destruction of border for their illegal activity.

Reddy, who is in judicual custody since September last and has been lodged in Parappana Agrahara central jail here in connection with the CBI probe into illegal iron ore mining by AMC, was brought here last night.

Reddy's wife Lakshmi Aruna and son Kirita met him.

But BJP Lok Sabha Member J Shantha and Legislator Mruthunjaya were not allowed to meet him.

He had been avoiding arrest though the court issued a warrant against him about nine times by the court.

The Judge posted the case for further hearing to November 28.

As a precautionary measure, the authorities clamped prohibitory orders under Section 144 CrPC and refused entry to media near court hall where the hearing was on.
