Bhatkal: A woman, who was reportedly sick, committed suicide by jumping into the well at Karikal under the limits of Mavinkorove gram panchayat of Bhatkal taluk. The deceased has been identified as Lalavathi Rajiv Naik, aged 38.

Lalavathi went missing from home at about 4am Monday midnight. The family tried to search for her but to no avail.

When the news about finding a body of women in a well got circulated into the town, the people gathered at the incident spot and helped recover the body, which was later identified as Lalavathi’s.





Sub inspector Naveen Jogi visited the spot along with associates.

A case has been registered at the Bhatkal rural police station.
