Bhatkal: Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated on Friday 26th of October in Bhatkal, announced the Bhatkal Qazis on Friday night.

According to the received information, it was previously announced in the news papers by the Qazi of Calicut that the Eid would be celebrated on 27th Oct Saturday, as the moon was not sighted anywhere in Kerala. But the people of a village named ‘Kapad’ located between Calicut and Kannur, after seeing the announcement in the news paper, called the Calicut Qazi and informed that moon was sighted there by number of people and they had considered Eid to be on 26th Oct, as per the calendar.

After this, it was announced in Calicut that the Eid would be on coming Friday.

Speaking to SO on phone, the Bhatkal Qazis said that based on the moon sighted near Calicut, the Eid will be celebrated in Bhatkal on Friday.

Udupi district, Mangalore district, Ullal, Kasargod and all the places in Kerala will also celebrate Eid on Friday.
