Bhatkal: Former Member of Jaali Zilla Panchayat Bhatkal, MM Naik has reportedly resigned from the BJP membership on Tuesday. He had called a Press Conference along with his supporters to announce his resignation.
Addressing a press conference, Naik explained the reasons behind his resignation. He said, after he became an active member of BJP he has been actively involved in further strengthening the party and had worked hard for the success of party's candidates during Rural Panchayat elections,Taluka Panchayat,Vidhan Sabha and Lok Sabha elections. He had also collected the funds of over five crore rupees for the development work of constituency while he was serving as a Zilla Panchayat member, Rural Bank Director and as a Gram Panchayat Member for two terms.
During the Elections of Zilla Panchayat, leaders of his own party raised rebel candidates against him and defeated him. There have been all sorts of efforts to bring him down and he has been ignored by the party leaders. He further said, "They even stopped inviting me during the Ministers and MP's visit to our taluk. Fed up with the way it is functioning, I am resigning from the BJP membership"
In response to a question he said, "At present, I don’t think that I will join any party-. The decision of joining another political party will be made after consulting his supporters and loved ones, he added.
Gopal Naik, Laxman Naik, Prakash were also present on the occasion.
