Bhatkal: The Bhatkal Inter Football Association (BIFA) team won Dussehra Football Tournament defeating Karwar by 2-1 in the finals held at Sirsi.

Under the captaincy of Mawiya Mohtesham, Akif chamundi kicked the winning goal and recorded a stunning win.

Karwar suffered their first defeat in district level football. A total of 8 teams from across the district had participated in the tournament. Bhatkal team reached finals after beating Mundgod and Halyal and had put in a fantastic performance to win the finals against Karwar.

The victory gives BIFA a spot in the state level football games held in Belgaum, which will be played on 7th October.

Ecstatic team manager, Janab Ishtiyaq Ruknuddin congratulated the players and said that, "This is a historic win, and I hope that BIFA will compete at the state level with the best football game".
