Bhatkal: The mentally retarded students of the ‘Sneha Special School’ Bhatkal have displayed their wonderful performance in the state level sports competition by receiving two gold and two bronze medals. The competitions were held by the Central Youth Welfare and Sports Association at the Kanteerva Stadium of Bangalore for the mentally retarded children of the State.

The Student of Sneha School, Muhammed Dayyan got first place in football, whereas Syed Yaseen received first place in Discs throw and second place in 100 meter running. Sheema received second place in shuttle badminton, Vijaya Bhat got third place in a game called ‘Buchi’ and Muhammed Raif got third place in football.

The gold medal winner Muhammed Dayyan is the son of Muhammed Hussain and Bibi Lateefa, the residents of Tengingundi. Syed Yaseen is the son of Dastageer and Bibi Rasheeda of Chowtani, Sheema is the daughter of Muhammed Humayun and Bibi Nafeesa of Gulmi. The bronze medal winner Muhammed Raif is the son of Abdul Qadir and Fouzia of Magdoom Colony. Vijaya Bhat is the daughter of Venkatesh Bhat and Indra Bhat of Shirali.

Altogether 200 students from the various places of state had participated in the State level competitions.
