Bhatkal: A woman reportedly died in an incident when she lost her balance while stepping down from a bus at the Sarpankatta of Bhatkal. The incident took place at about 1.30 pm on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as Nagamma Narayan Gonda aged 35 years.
It is said that Nagamma had been to Kundapur for her treatment and was on her way back to Bhatkal on a private bus. When the bus reached Sarpankatta, she unfortunately tried to step down from the bus before the bus had completely come to halt, due to which she lost her balance and fell down from the moving bus. The woman received a critical head injury in the accident and was immediately transferred to the Bhatkal Government Hospital.

The social worker Nisar Ahmed top immediately reached the hospital after receiving the news and arranged for an ambulance to shift the injured women to Kundapur Hospital after the initial treatment at the Bhatkal Govt. Hospital. But the women unfortunately died even before she was completely shifted to the ambulance.
The dead body was handed over to her husband in the evening after the post mortem. It is told that Nagamma had two kids.
A case has been registered in the Bhatkal rural police station.
