Bhatkal: The bandh called by NDA, Left parties and UPA supporters SP and JD(S) today evoked no response in the coastal town of Karnataka, Bhatkal, with all the shops, business establishments and most of the schools remaining open, even the vehicular movement was normal.

Shops in Chowk Bazar, Old Bus stand, Muhammed Ali Road, Main Road were open.



Autos and tempo's were operating while only the Buses were off the roads.

The bandh had been called to protest the Central government's decision to allow FDI in multi brand retail and increase in diesel prices
