Bhatkal: Around twenty people got injured when a lorry and a tempo collided head-on here at the Bailoor cross on Murdeshwar National Highway. Among the victims four are said to be seriously injured.

The tempo was on its way from Honnaver to Bhatkal and the lorry was on its way from Bhatkal to Honnaver when the accident took place.





Among the seriously injured is the lorry driver, who has been identified as Annappa Naik from Manki. His condition is said to be very critical. Other is the tempo driver, Yuvaraj Manjunath Naik, who hails from Bhatkal Jali. Rest two is the passenger named Ishwar Naik and the tempo owner, whose name is not known. All the four have been taken to Mangalore for the treatment.

The other injured people have been taken to Bhatkal Government Hospital and some to RNS Hospital Murdeshwar.

A case has been registered in Murdeshwar rural police station.
