Bhatkal: The arrests of Muslim youths in Bangalore and Hubli in previous days have all over again activated the Anti-Muslim media to carry on their baseless jobs . Most of the news papers have tried to portray the truth, even they carried the pain of the victim families and their feelings, whereas there are a countable few, which have taken the role of Anti-Muslim and has already given their conclusions even before the trails have gone to the court of law.

Taking a step ahead these newspapers have also tried to drag the name of Bhatkal into the scene.

It should be noted that one of the Kannada news channels gave a broadcast about the arrests of youth from Bhatkal, Shimoga and Hyderabad in connection with the same case on Friday night calling it ‘breaking news’. While another Kannada newspaper has published that the youth arrested in Bangalore and Hubli have their bank accounts in Bhatkal, Honnaver and Sirsi and funds are being collected into the same accounts from these places. But today to the shock of public, another Kannada news paper has published the fake news about the arrest of two Bhatkali youth with same connections and also that the famous underworld don Dawood Ibrahim’s brother Anees Ibrahim has set up a business complex in Bhatkal and lakhs of rupees from the income of this complex goes to HuJI and LeT. It is incredible as to how can such news fake be published in some so called authentic news papers just for the sake of personal gain and creating tension among the folks.

In connection to these, Sahilonline tried to seek clarification from the district SP, Mr. Balakrishna. The SP said that all these news were fake and baseless and also that there is not even a tiny amount of truth in these news. When Sahilonline spoke to the higher Intelligence Officer of the State regarding this, he expressed his disbelief over such false and made up news and said that Bhatkal is in no way connected to the arrests which were made in Bangalore and Hubli. Going further, Sahilonline also got in touch with the Maharashtra ATS Chief Rakesh Marya on phone, he replied that there is no any reality for such news. Regarding four additional arrests which were made in Nanandez of Maharashtra, he said that none among them are related to Bhatkal in any way. He further clarified that no arrests have taken place in Bhatkal in the entire case and there is no reality in such news which are being broadcasted by the media.

Such fake and baseless news in media have enraged the Muslims of entire town and the locals are pressurizing the social organization Majlis-e-Islah-o-Tanzeem to take legal actions against such newspapers.

Speaking to Sahilonline about the issue, the Muslim community leader Mr. S M Syed Khaleelur Rahman has expressed his anger over those particular newspapers and said that the media is purposely trying to drag Bhatkal into the scene for personal gain and are trying to bring a bad name to the town and its residents by publishing such fake and baseless news. He informed that the legal recourse would be taken against such newspapers. He further said that if someone is found guilty of the crime, he should be surely punished, but the peaceful atmosphere of the town should not be disturbed without any reason.

Bhatkal Muslim Jamaat together with Tanzeem should setup a committee and hire lawyers to go after News Papers/Channels who tries to drag the community name with baseless accusation and sue them for money. This is the only way they would refrain from publishing baseless accusation against the community.
