Bhatkal: 88,000 Kgs of rice was distributed to poor people of Bhatkal, Shirali, Shirur, Honaavar and Kumta by the fitra Committe on Eid night, informed the Committee Chairman Molana Ilyas Jakti Nadvi, at Eid Milan organized by Fitra Committee, Bhatkal at Ali Public School.

Moulana Ilyas was happy to inform that the distribution circle had extended to even Kumta and Shiroor this year. Further, while briefing about the distribution pattern, he said that the Fitra committe had collected 88,000 kgs of rice from various families in Bhatkal, which was distributed among 1471 families along 37 regions.

The quantity of rice that was distributed varied from 50 kgs to 200 kgs depending to the condition of the individual families.

In the year 2011, the quantity of the collected rice was 97,000kgs and it was distributed to 1,398 families.

The Fitra committee is doing a job of distributing the rice among needy from last 27 years in Bhatkal. It was first initiated in Bhatkal by Moulana Zubair, later Moulana Ilyas Jakti Nadvi took charge and is accomplishing the job very well, every year.

The total Value of rice distributed was over Rs 20 Lakhs this year.



The Eid Milan program began with the recitation of the verses from the Holy Quran by Moulavi Muzammil Hallare Nadvi. Tanzeem Vice-President S M Parvez greeted the guests while the president of Tanzeem Kazia Muzammil presided over the function.
