Bhatkal Engineering student killed in road accident

Bhatkal: A 21-year-old engineering student of Anjuman Institute of Technology & Management, Bhatkal was reportedly killed in a road accident on Monday. According to the police, he was travelling on a scooter along with his friend and was on his way from Bhatkal railway station to the Anjuman hostel, when their two-wheeler skid near the Pushpanjali Theatre on National Highway 17. Deceased has been identified as Praveen Kumar (21) who was killed on the spot due to the head injury while the pillion rider was identified as Tauqeer (21) who recieved some minor injuries.

Police said that the accident took place at the morning at about 7.00 am.



Praveen Kumar S/o Naresh Singh was a native of Gaya in Bihar State. He was a final year BE student in Mechanical Engineering Department.

Anjuman Vice president Ansar Kashimji, General Secretary Abdul Raheem Jukaku, Vice principal Udaya Prasanna, Secretaries Abubakar Kashimji, MJ Abdul Raqeeb, Javid Armar, along with other staff and students rushed to the Govt. hospital once they heard the news.

A case has been registered in Bhatkal Town Police station.
