Bhatkal: An unidentified body of a man, aged about 35 to 40 years was found near the Railway Track, forest area at Gorte, in Bhatkal Taluka limit early morning on Tuesday. The body was burnt and unrecognized.

Police suspect murder behind man’s death. The man had been stabbed in the stomach and the body was disposed off in the forest area, and was later burnt.

The corpse has been sent to the Bhatkal Government Hospital for postmortem.

Bhatkal CPI Shivprakash, PSI Naveen Jogi along with associates, also the Bhatkal Social worker Nisar Top rushed to the spot to witness the victim.

A case has been registered in Bhatkal rural police station.
