Bhatkal: Karnataka Soaps & Detergent Limited (KSDL) has organized an exhibition cum sale mela at Bhatkal, namely 'SOAP SANTHE', for the marketing of its products at discounted price from 9 Aug to 16 August. The mela will be inaugurated by KSDL president Shivanand Naik on Thursday 9th August at Bhatkal Urban Bank Hall at 10 am. Distribution of Free Sandalwood saplings for the farmers will also be conducted soon after the inauguration. More than 70 products of the KSDL will be introduced during the exhibition. The special attraction will be the New Mysore Sandal’s ‘Millennium Super Premium Soap’ which costs Rs. 720/-



Briefing the details about the company, KSDL President Shivanand Naik told reporters that the traditional KSDL is the outcome of the foresight and vision of his highness Nalwadi Krishnaraja Vodeyar, the then Maharaja of Mysore & Bharat Ratna Sir M. Visvesvaraya, the later the Diwan of Mysore. The KSDL is in the forefront in making of natural and pure sandalwood products due to its stable management and good manufacturing practices. He added that Mysore Sandal soaps and sandalwood oil has received a special value in the international markets.

The Inaugural ceremony will be presided by Bhatkal MLA J D Naik, he informed.
