Bhatkal: It was previously seen that the miscreants were trying to erupt the tension in town by throwing bottles on the vehicles passing on the National Highway, and the episodes had come to an end with the arrest of few persons. But according to the recent news, the bottles have been replaced by the eggs, and the target place has been changed from the national highway to the local street roads. The police suspects that the same gang is behind the mischief and they have revived their actions after a short gap.
An incident of such kind took place here on Thursday night around 10.15pm. Fayaz Mulla, a social worker of Bhatkal and a reporter of Naqsh-e-Nawayath, became the target to the mischief on Bunder road, second cross, who was on his way to his sisterís home after praying taraweeh. It was told that the egg was thrown by the two youth and the target was so perfect that the egg directly hit his chest with such a force that the victim fell off from his vehicle after losing the balance.
Talking to press persons, Mr. Fayaz Mulla has said that he had just reached the turn at the end of the Bunder road, second cross when a bike with two riders suddenly appeared from the opposite direction. They threw an egg in his direction which directly hit his chest. With this Mr. Fayaz fell from the bike screaming. When he turned back to see the miscreants, he noticed that the persons on bike had lowered their speed to entertain themselves with the scene of their victim falling off his vehicle. When the miscreants were sure that the victim had fallen off, they fled the scene with the speed. Initially Mr. Fayaz thought that he had been shot with a bullet, but the local Hindu brethren came to his rescue and calmed him down saying that it was just an egg.
According to Mr. Fayaz, the place had no street lights which failed him to clearly see the faces of the miscreants. He suspects that the mischief makers had came from a far way with an egg in hand with the intention of throwing it on the first person they happen to pass by and unfortunately he was the one who became victim to their mischief. He said that he tried to follow the bike as soon as he got up, but the bike riders rode away taking a turn on the Eidgah road and later passing through Asarkeri.
Mr. Fayaz Mulla has lodged a complaint in the Bhtakal town police station and PSI Prakash Devadiga is investigating the case. He has assured that the criminals would be arrested at the earliest.
